POLS 3170 - The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
(Formerly 019.317) A systematic examination of the rights and freedoms contained in the Charter through Supreme Court decisions. Additional topics addressed include the historical, political and intellectual sources of rights protection in Canada and a review of Canadian human rights legislation. Students may not hold credit for both POLS 3170 (019.317) and the former 019.266. Prerequisite: [a grade of "C" or better in one of: POLS 2070 (019.207) or POLS 2071 (019.207)] or written consent of instructor or department head.
