(Lab required) Advanced topics in computer architecture and organization, such as instruction set architecture, performance measures, pipeline processor design, data and instruction cache, data dependencies, branch prediction and penalties, superscalar architecture, multithreading, out-of-order execution, speculative execution, overlapping register windowing, and multiprocessor system design. May not be held with ECE 4850 when titled" Modern Computing Systems". Prerequisite: ECE 3610.
